i realized that to set resolutions for the year basically means you have ... to be damn resolute about them, hence the name as such. never realized that was actually was "resolutions" meant till these few days when i keep thinking what should i set as my resolutions. read back on my january 2010 post, which was the previous time i actually had resolutions for the year, and realized that i set them because i was just so, so so motivated to achieve them. and eventually, i did accomplish 4/5 of them, or at least, tried my extreme best to. hence i did feel a sense of accomplishment. (:
this time round, i could only think of things i want, things i hope i can achieve, but im not resolute or motivated to achieve them at all ;( for example, i wanted to set one resolution to: get a good job which i will enjoy. i wanted to tell myself i MUST accomplish this (which was what i did in 2010 regarding my driving license) but some part of my heart tells me ahhhh this is so difficult, its not that it's impossible but its so hard ;( and i do not feel the same motivation as i did for my driving license haha. not as motivated, not as confident.
maybe i shall start my resolutions off by naming one of them to be, to start reading books again. i think the last time i actually finished a whole book intently was way back in primary 6 (harry potter i think?) haha. today i went to popular with sijia and i was telling her how much i loved reading in the past. i could hole up in my room or on the sofa the ENTIRE DAY just reading, finishing books after books. well well, looking at my reading habits now, which are practically non-existent, i'm um, slightly guilty :/
okay one resolution for now, the rest when i feel resolute about them. or else, what's the point right? (:
